Compact objects are generally detected by the photons emitted by the matter falling onto it. Due to infall accreting matter becomes hot. Therefore the accreting matter is in the plasma state and can be described by fluid equations. The electrons in the accretion disc are radiatively efficient and therefore the electrons and protons separately relax into two different temperatures. That is to say electrons and proton temperatures are independent variables. In other words the number of equations are less than the number of variables, or the solutions are degenerate. We propose a method called entropy maximization technique to obtain the unique solution. We apply this method in accreting flows around black holes and around neutron stars and compute the electromagnetic spectra from these objects.
