Unusual amino acids play an important role in designing peptides with useful applications. In this regard, we have demonstrated a unified strategy to various unusual amino acid derivatives using “Building Block Approach”. Some of these building blocks are suitable to generate a library of amino acid derivatives. Additionally, they have been incorporated into small peptides and post synthetic peptide modifications were performed by chemical methods. This talk covers various new methodologies developed in our laboratory regarding the synthesis of unusual amino acid derivatives and peptides. Here, we have used metathesis, Suzuki coupling, [2+2+2] cycloaddition reactions, and Diels-Alder reaction as key steps. |
