Planet Earth is unique because the conditions here are appropriate for sustaining life! A vital ingredient
that makes the planet habitable is water. !
In my presentation, I will explore how the Solid Earth plays an important role in sustaining surface water. I will also discuss the role that water plays in
sustaining the geological activities within the Earth.
To address these issues, we need to have better constraints on how much water there is in the Solid Earth and how it is partitioned among the various Solid Earth reservoirs. I have been trying to refine these constraints by investigating Earth materials at the atomistic scale and relating them to geological
