| Details: | The study of loop space of manifolds is classical. We shall begin with an equivariant study of such spaces for surfaces, leading up to studying algebraic structures on loop spaces of manifolds. From there on, we will discuss the connections of this theory to detecting non-homotopy equivalences, counting geodesics and other areas of mathematical physics. The talk will be self-contained and most new terminology will be explained. |
