| Details: | We will describe the structure of isometries on Hilbert spaces, following H. Wold and J. von Neumann. Then we will proceed to represent (concrete and not so concrete) tuples of commuting isometries. We will draw a list of observations on subtlety of this object and link it up with some deep problems in operator theory and function theory. |
