Pushing forward the limit of nanometrology is a challenge, which is important both fundamentally and application-wise. Recently, we have experimentally demonstrated localisation precision down to few angstroms with sub-angstrom accuracy. This was possible by carefully structuring the individual components of the excitation field, thus obtaining a strong position dependent directional scattering from the nanoparticle, also known as transverse Kerker scattering.
