Amol is an Assistant Professor at the Department of
Electrical Engineering at IITD. His research areas of interest are
photon-phonon interactions, laser physics, integrated photonics,
nonlinear optics and their applications in high-speed optical and
wireless communication networks.
He was previously the Australian Government’s Discovery Early Career
Research Award (DECRA) fellow at the University of Sydney and the UK
Government’s EPSRC Doctoral Prize Research Fellow at the
Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC), University of Southampton. He
received his Ph.D. from the ORC and a Masters in Photonics from the
University of St Andrews, Scotland, and the Gent University, Belgium.
He is a Senior Member of the Optical Society (OSA) and is also a 2019
Ambassador of the OSA. He was the recipient of the 2018 OSA’s Kaminow
Outstanding Early Career Professional Prize
He serves on 7 Conference committees, including CLEO USA and SPIE
Optics and Photonics. He has co-authored more than 100 conference and
journal papers, including 5 postdeadline papers and 7 Invited talks at
conferences.
