Entangled photon sources are of paramount importance not
only for the fundamental research but also for a variety of
applications in real-world quantum communications and quantum
computing. However, the realization of next-generation envisaged
projects towards the implementation of the worldwide quantum network
through ground-to-satellite and or inter-satellite links require the
development of compact and robust entangled photon sources with high
brightness and entanglement purity. On the other hand, it is also
equally important to generate hybrid entanglement states between
different degrees-of-freedom of a particle pair and increase the
dimensionality of the bi-photon states. In this talk, we will
discuss
our recent results on the generation of high brightness entangled
photon source, and the direct transfer of classical states using the
spontaneous the down-conversion process to generate hybrid entangled
states and to increase of dimensionality of the bi-photon states.
These demonstrations might be useful for quantum communication and
quantum sensing applications. |
