We have developed a novel velocity slice imaging spectroscopic technique for the study of low energy electron-molecule collision studies starting from scratch. The spectrometer has been applied for the study of dissociative electron attachment and dipolar dissociation of few simple molecules of fundamental interest. The technique allows us to determine kinetic energy and angular distribution of fragment negative ion(s), simultaneously, with unprecedented sensitivity. In this colloquium, we will describe details of the experimental set-up and technique followed by a few examples from our recent studies.
