| Details: | The talk will give an short historical overview of the waste disposal concepts worldwide and especially the strategy and layout of a deep geological repository (DGR) in different geological formations. Beside an introduction in the host rocks formations internationally discussed the strength of the multi-barrier concept will be presented. Current research and development projects of the Applied Geology group and knowledge from related works in the field of e.g. geothermal energy, mining site remediation and new cement concepts to reduce the CO2 footprint will be shortly presented. |
