Non-volatile devices are of enormous importance as they require lower power consumption
compared to the conventional charge-based devices. In this talk, I will present my research work
towards the development and understanding of nanostructures, epitaxial thin films and hetero-
structures for designing material platforms for non-volatile device applications. I will use examples of
two extremely useful material classes, namely, phase change materials and Heusler alloys, to show
how through novel growth schemes and by tuning electronic structure and spin degree of freedom,
efficient platforms can be achieved for such applications. |
