Nature of the dynamics of any quantum system coupled to its environment can be described by the correlations among the ensemble averages of the observables. All possible set of dynamics (including unitary) of a quantum system which are completely positive and trace preserving (CPTP) are considered physical within the framework of quantum mechanics. However, set of dynamics outside the CPTP dynamical maps which are strictly non-unitary, has not been explored much earlier in terms of temporal correlations of observables. These dynamics can also be motivated within the framework of quantum mechanics provided the dynamics is effectively generated from the post-selected ensemble of either unitary dynamics or Lindbladian dynamics following a quantum measurement. Non-Hermitian dynamics is one such class of dynamics which is only positive but trace preserving. I would talk about how these dynamics are distinguishable from the other dynamics of open quantum systems in terms of, temporal correlations among the observables and realizations of these dynamics within the framework of quantum mechanics.
