The novel two-dimensional (2D) van-der-Waals (vdW) materials have recently
developed increasing attention as they show new directions to explore magnetism in low-dimension
with potential applications in spintronics. Materials belong to this class acquire exotic magnetic and
spin-dependent features which can be controlled by the application of (small-scale) external
perturbations. In my talk I would present interesting properties like, magnetic, electronic, spin-orbit
coupling, spin-texture, effect of electron correlation, etc., present in different types of 2D magnets
ranging from insulator to metal. |
