Electron-molecule and ion-molecule collision processes are important from the fundamental as well as
application point of view. Applications of charged particle induced processes range from nano
fabrication to targeted cancer therapy or from understanding of radiation induced damage to DNA to
interstellar medium chemistry. In this talk I will be giving an overview of different modern techniques
currently in use or underdeveloped. I will be discussing about Focused Electron Beam Induced
Deposition (FEBID) and Focused Ion Beam Induced Deposition (FIBID) and their usage in nanofabrication.
Then I will discuss about synchrotron radiation induced reaction with nimorazole, a radiosensitizer used
for targeted neck and head cancer treatment, in aqueous solvated phase and at the end show some
initial results on electron beam induced single and double strand break of plasmid DNA again in aqueous
solvated phase recorded using newly developed high vacuum compatible micro-liquid jet setup. |
