In the recent years, Category theory is emerging as an important tool in
various areas of Physics and Computer Science. In Quantum Computing and Information,
compact closed categories are playing a significant role by capturing the essence of the
standard axiomatic presentation of Quantum Mechanics. In this talk, which would be
intended to undergraduate students, a flavour of compact closed categories will be given.
Some of the examples useful in Quantum Information will also be discussed. |
