Science provides the best methods to predict natural and other phenomena with precision, which opens up new avenues for technological advancement. However, scientific activities and conclusions rely on certain foundational assumptions, which are not probed and questioned within the realm of science. A philosophical examination of these assumptions can be helpful to understand the limitations and reliability of science, to place it in a larger arena, and sometimes to set its direction. We will invoke the most fundamental aspect of logic and briefly discuss some aspects of the premise of science, for example, cause-effect, objectivity, and the existence of an ultimate law. |
