| Details: | In this era of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), the search for new antibacterial drug targets is necessary. To address this issue, we are working on an important bacterial protein called GTPase Obg/CgtA, which is essential in many pathogenic bacteria, including our model organism Vibrio cholerae. Our latest studies reveal that CgtA functions at the systems level in V. cholerae. During my talk, I will elaborate on this and report on a few hitherto unknown functions of CgtA. I will also discuss our latest findings from comparative cryo-EM studies of two Tobamoviruses that reveal the molecular basis of host specificity. |
