Accretion onto black holes (BHs) is widely believed to be the primary source of energy in luminous BH systems. Two intriguing observational signatures associated with accretion are outflows and quasi-periodic oscillations (QPOs), both commonly observed in BH systems. Since BHs cannot eject matter directly, outflows are believed to originate from the surrounding accretion disk. In this seminar, I will mainly discuss the possible physical mechanism responsible for driving outflows and how different accretion properties, such as magnetic field, viscosity, thermal conduction and BH spin influence outflow properties. At the end, I will address the underlying processes that may explain the broad range of QPO frequencies observed in BH X-ray binaries. Overall, this study aims to improve our understanding of the physical processes governing accretion, outflows, and variability in BH systems. |
